Sarah G. Marmor has more than 10 years’ experience teaching in public and private school settings along the Eastern seaboard, from New York to Maryland, where she has played leadership roles in designing curricula. Marmor has deep experience teaching gifted children, and applies this expertise to children of all abilities, to cultivate each child’s unique potential regardless of prior academic performance. She is the published co-author of a chapter on gifted education and literacy in The International Handbook on Giftedness, and is co-founder of PIQUE Learning and a children’s book author. Marmor received a Bachelor’s degree in English from Barnard College and a Master’s degree in Teaching English from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds New York State certifications in teaching secondary English and in gifted education.
Helaina Altabef has diverse experience teaching children through her work at an inner-city public school, a private school, and a gifted and talented middle school on the East and West coasts. She began her career in education as a New York City Teaching Fellow in 2001, which provided the platform for her growth as a mentor and creator of curricula. An entrepreneur at heart, Altabef understands what it takes to succeed in business, and co-founded PIQUE Learning because she strongly believes that tomorrow’s leaders must be proficient in reading, thinking, organizing and problem-solving to compete in an increasingly competitive world. Altabef received a Bachelor’s degree with honors in English from the State University of New York, Fredonia, and a Master’s degree in Education from Pace University.
